The most prominent theme of the book is racism and slavery. That is because Mark Twain wrote the book after slavery. In the book "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" Jim is a run away slave because of freedom and leaves with Huck. In the novel, Huck had the decision to turn Jim in and get a award for it. That is because Huck thought it would make everyone one happy. The main reason why racism is the theme is because you get to see how things have change with racism and slavery, and that now people would be awarded for helping someone who needs it, instead of turning them in.
I don't agree that racism and slavery is the theme. It did had a MAJOR part in the novel, but Huck and Jim were able to overcome it to become great friends and live many experiences while on the Mississippi. I think if racism and slavery was the theme, we would see much more of it. Through the novel, we see more of friendship and freedom because of Huck's running away and Jim's escaping, and thier adventures while together.
